On April 5th, we launched what we believe to be a truly significant photographic event: M.I.L.K., a global celebration of the essence of humanity that combines the richest ever photographic competition with a planned major international exhibition and publishing programme.

M.I.L.K. is about capturing moments of Intimacy, Laughter and Kinship. It involves inviting participation from photographers (professional and serious amateurs) from every country in the world. The cash prize pool is US$750,000. Photographers will retain all copyright in their photographs and the winners will be invited to enter into an exclusive 10-year licensing agreement with M.I.L.K. for inclusion of their images in an international publishing and exhibition programme - in exchange for publishing royalties.

The competition opened on the web on 5 April 1999 at www.milkphotos.com. The closing date is 30 September 1999. Comprehensive information is available at the web site. We are also advertising in international photographic magazines and have built a database of around 25,000 photographers from all 192 countries in the world.

This international competition will create a unique celebration of humanity captured through the artistry of photographers from the world's diverse regions and cultures.
