Winnign our attention.Our eyes have been desensitized to sport frames through daily contact with scores of colored, glossy, empty "sport" pictures in newspapers and magazines. We've got tired of seeing stereotyped athletes and players pursuing their meaningless routines, frozen in mid-vacuum. My relief was great when I first experienced Heng Versteeg's way of looking at sports. He only "records" his feelings and the Art inherent in everything around us, thus giving back its value to the most valuable idea of Athlesis and Athletics. So cheer up and get into Heng Versteeg's pictures, feel the pulse, welcome the abstract energy and even greet his wise " absentmindedness " in considering wildflowers more important than bicyclists !!!
