"Looking into the lens" Film Ilford 400 ISO and a camera Minolta manual with a 50 mm and 100 mm lenses. The models have been illuminated by means of two simple strip lights 100 W each. The subdued lighting made it necessary to increase the number of ISO in the camera, to a higher level ( mainly to 6400 ISO ) By this way the film was underexposed during the shooting and then it was overdeveloped. This increase in sensitivity (push processing ) leads to the creation of (quite ) visible grain and heightens the contrast of the image. In big enlargements, this results in photographs resembling paintings. The subject of my exhibition was Black and White portraits in which the model looks straight into the camera lens.
