For me there is a deep meaning to the phrase "There is nothing";
something similar occurs with "There is something there". When I
become aware of an object through my sense of sight, a new
relationship is established between that object and myself.
This visual recognition is not about understanding the forms,
colors and the names of objects, but about abstracting their
visual features. In doing this, I have been trying to take
the accepted function and sense away from the object.
